Royal Caribbean can probably expect a nice fine and the captain probably fired. No way since they were departing the Port would they not know of the no go zone. It would be like departing DCA and flying straight through P-56 and then go, " What you mean there was a prohibited area?". Can't claim ignorance here......
A gross failure of seamanship from a Captain responsible for a large number of passengers. NOTAMS next to an active set of launch sites are far from unexpected. Really, this is unacceptable - it isn't like a sailing vessel with bad winds or an engine failure or some other issue.
We talk of what…. 7000 to 9000 people in the no go zone. That must be some kind of record.
