Soyuz Launch Statistics
« on: 07/02/2007 02:58 PM »
I am looking for some statistics for a piece I'm thinking of writing and thought this would be a great place to start looking!  Does anyone have, or know where I could look for, statistics on the number of manned Soyuz launches dating back to the beginning of that program?  I'm looking for an overall bulk number of launches, from 1967 to present, but I'll take whatever you've got in any form it comes in!  Thanks in advance.  -- John McGauley

95 manned launches of Soyuz spacecrafts of all modifications:

Soyuz - 38 launches (Soyuz-1, from Soyuz-3 to Soyuz-19, from Soyuz-21 to Soyuz-33, from Soyuz-35 to Soyuz-40, Soyuz 18-1)
Soyuz T - 14 launches (from Soyuz T-2 to Soyuz T-15, except for Soyuz T-10-1)
Soyuz TM - 33 launches (from Soyuz TM-2 to Soyuz TM-34)
Soyuz TMA - 10 launches (from Soyuz TMA-1 to Soyuz TMA-10)

If the term is broadened to "manned flights" vice "manned launches", two more can be counted: the aforementioned T-10-1 (launch abort), and Soyuz 34 (launched unmanned, landed manned carrying the crew of Soyuz 32), for a total of 97.

Thanks to both of you for responding.  I would be more apt to use manned flights vs. just manned launches, as I think it more accurately reflects what Soyuz has accomplished.  Thanks for offering the stats from both perspectives.
