Nothing scheduled to launch before the ATV next year. That is currently scheduled for NET 22 February. First Vega is scheduled for December.

According to Lyngsat page Sat One C2 satellite is scheduled for launch in February 2008. http://www.lyngsat.com/launches/2008.html

But the schedule is full now due to ATV-1 Jules Verne. How will they launch Star One C2 in February? Are there two Ariane 5 missions in February?

Unlikely. ATV is late Feb (currently 22nd) anyway, and they aren't launching anything before it. Lyngsat is probably out of date.

(...)
Based on this and the information above, I would say:

Superbird 7/Türksat 3A - Late January/Early February
Vinasat 1 - 28 March
ProtoStar 1/Badr 6- Late April/Early May
Astra 1M/AMC 21 -  Late June
Herschell / Planck - 31 July
TerreStar-1 - Late August/Early September (GS)
Hot Bird 9/Eutelsat W2M - Late September/Early October
ATV - Late November/Early December

This is really just a guess, based on the fact that they were planning 8 launches, which satellites are scheduled to launch at around the same time, and approximate turn-around windows. There may be one more launch, in Early December, given that the ATV was scheduled for 2007 when they discussed 8 launches in 2008. Again, this is a guess, please don't take it too seriously

It's a guess but it can be a good guess. Do you want to work this schedule a little bit more? ATV is schedule for February.

How about (speculation in italics):

Date - Satellite(s) - Configuration
22 February - ATV - ES
March? - Superbird 7/Türksat 3A - ECA
28 March - Vinasat-1/Star One C2 - ECA - or early April
April/May - ProtoStar-1/Badr-6 - ECA
[/i]June - Astra 1M/AMC 21 - ECA[/i]
31 July - Herschell/Planck - ECA
September - TerreStar-1/INSAT-4G - GS
November - Hot Bird 9/Eutelsat W2M - ECA

Terrestar is booked to fly as the only passenger on a launch vehicle, not on a shared launch.

I think Vinasat 1 is also out of date. They announced this date(28 March) in September 2007 and then they did not change it in fact the changes in Ariane launch schedule. In addition to a news in SES-Astra website Vinasat 1 will be launched in second quarter of 2008.

Star One C2 is shown in February because operator of satellite Embratel made an announcement before 2 weeks. (These are the words of C. Lyngemark - Lyngsat webmaster)

Türksat 3A will be launched in March. There is no other option due to capacity problems in Türksat satellite fleet.

It is possible for Star One C2/Türksat 3A to go on space together.

Is Astra 1M going with Proton?

Eutelsat W2M is scheduled for 3rd quarter of 2008. According to Eutelsat: http://www.eutelsat.com/satellites/3_3-launch-schedule.html

Yes, I'm pretty sure they re-used the ASTRA 1L-contract they made with ILS in 2004 when 1L was re-scheduled on Ariane and launched in May 07.
