Thanks for the info. I'm thinking a CG issue?

Acronym hell: CG stands for...?
Center of Gravity.
Thank you.
@ Chris: we really should have an acronym list on this site.  :D

We do, and CG is listed  ;)
Oh goodie  :) Link please.

The acronym list can be accessed from the menu bar at the top of the page.

You can set the forum software to highlight any acronyms in this list using a dotted underline within posts, and if you hover your mouse pointer over them a pop-up definition is displayed.

From the menu bar: Profile → Modify Profile/Look and Layout → check "Highlight items from Acronyms List".

How did they manage to cut short the time between ATV's launch and docking to half?

The ATV could not dock before March 19 because of thermal constraints.  It was just going to be in a parking orbit for about 5 days.  A March 23 launch doesn't require any waiting so the ATV will start its rendezvous maneuvers as soon as it gets into orbit.

A bit late now, but came across these two slides on the over-pressurization of Soyuz vehicle #704.  Includes location and photos of damage.  Thought they might be of interest.

April 20 - Progress M-15M launch
April 22 - Progress M-15M docking (to Pirs)

In NK n°12-2011, a wonderful journalist wrote that the docking would occur on the launch day, during orbit n°5...

The docking in such way will occur, probably, later this year, but I was told that Progress M-15M will make some tests for that during autonomous flight to ISS.

Very interesting, I'd never heard of this.

What is the purpose of this - to test a new short rendezvous method, which could/will be used on all future Soyuz/Progress flights?
