There will be three Russian spacewalks from Pirs airlock in 2009. Two of them in June, another in August.

Have they ever undocked a Progress while the Shuttle was docked?   I don't seem to recall that happening before.

Now I am not sure that two spacewalks in June 2009 will be both from Pirs airlock. One of them should be from the transfer compartment (PkhO) of Zvezda module for installation of cone onto zenith port of this module for the providing of MRM-2 docking in August 2009. Also spacewalk in August 2009 will be after MRM-2 docking, so I think it is easier to perform this spacewalk from MRM-2, because there will not be Soyuz spacecraft on this module.

Have they ever undocked a Progress while the Shuttle was docked?

No, because it is forbidden by current rules.

Nope never.  And may not in the future - some of this is place holder but analysis is being done.

It seems that Perminov has doubts about the launch schedule of next year and six crew capability of the ISS.

Does that mean that Russia has difficulty to launch the scheduled Soyuz next year ?

I was told that Progress M-65 undocking will be possibly on November 7. There will be possibly two-week autonomous flight of this cargo ship after undocking for the performing of Otrazhenie-2 (Reflection) experiment.

2009
November - Atlantis (STS-129) launch [Hobaugh, Wilmore, Satcher, Foreman, Bresnik, Melvin, TBD]

2010
TBD - Endeavour (STS-130) launch [Zamka, Virts, Hire, Robinson, Behnken, Patrick, Garan]
TBD - Endeavour (STS-130) landing [Zamka, Virts, Hire, Robinson, Behnken, Patrick, TBD]
March 16 - Soyuz TMA-16 undocking (from MRM-2) and landing [Suraev, J.Williams, TBD]

Changes on November 5th
Changes on November 6th

Hi Anik, any idea behind all these "TBD"s above? I'm aware of the proposal to fly Garan on STS-130 from another thread (although it's denied in the PRCB document which states that this flight is limited to 6 pax), but not of any other ISS astronauts other than the ones we already know about.

Sorry I had missed your updates before, the system only updates the latest post when a new post is made not when it is updated.

Garan is not on 130.  There might be someone returned on it but not going uphill.

It was my assumption based on info about Garan flight to ISS as flight engineer. I thought that NASA will use free Russian place in Expedition 21 crew and continue rotation of crewmembers on Space Shuttles after STS-128. I have deleted all TBDs and STS-130 crew and will wait official press-release.
