So, at this time what do you think are the implications for the Chinese launch schedule for 2009? On the 9ifly forum someone said that this launch would mark the beggining of an intense launch period for China. What to expect?

According to this China Great Wall Industry press-release, China will launch a telecommunications satellite using a Chang Zheng-3B from Xichang Satellite Launch Center (XSLC) in 2012. The customer is from the Indian Ocean region.

Probably some of the launches using the CZ-3A, CZ-3B and CZ-3C are already delayed to 2010 because of the problems with the upper stage on the Palapa-D launch. Without further notice or other news I will have the 'NET December' note in all those launches.

Paksat 1R.
PakSat 1R, will be delivered to SUPARCO in mid 2011.
 So,I don't think it is PakSat-1R.

The last I hear about PakSat-1R was that it would be launched on August 2011. Also, the launch of PakSat-1R is already known so why hasn't CGWIC has announced its costumer on the press-release? There are rumors that this can be a iranian satellite.

The Board of Inquiry set up to investigate the root of the Palapa-D's CZ-3B underperformance plans to deliver its conclusions in mid-November.
Consequently launches of CZ-3B (and also CZ-3A, CZ-3C using the same YF-75 upper stage engine) may resume NET end November or December.

Paksat-1R launch now delayed to 2012 (source)
(then Pakistan cannot be ruled out as the new "Indian Ocean Region customer" for a 2012 CZ-3B launch)

2010

?? - CZ-3B - XSLC - Laos-1 (or 2011)

The MOU for Laos-1 has been signed yesterday (it was announced that it will be a DFH to be launched by Long March) so I would be surprised if the launch takes place before 2012, except if it is a refurbished satellite...

According to the 9ifly Chinese forum, China is preparing a launch for the second half of October that will probably orbit the YaoGan Weixing-7 remote sensing satellite.
Umm... Something between wild guess and hint. We'll see. And -- did the Chinese forum author provide the launch vehicle designation?

The same Chinese forum now seems to indicate a date of around October 25 for the launch of Yaogan-7 from Jiuquan with a CZ-2C

In a press release on oct.21 (http://www.spacechina.com/xwzx_zyxw_Details.shtml?recno=62789) about the signature of an agreement for the construction of the ground station for Paksat-1R, CASC mentions that the satellite will be launched from Xichang in 2010 ...

Apparently, and according to our friends from the 9ifly Space Chinese Forum, the launch of the Earthquake Electromagnetism Monitor Satellite and of the Tian Xun Zhe-1 (Tian Xun-1) will only take place next year. Suparco itself mentions a launch at end 2011; also at the time of the contract signature in 2008, a 2011 launch date was mentionned..
So a 2012 launch date for Paksat-1R is the most probable.

2012
?? - CZ-3B - XSLC - Communications Satellite for Bolivia

Changes on October 24

Rui, I think the launch of Tupac Katari for Bolivia will rather take place in 2013, not in 2012, the contract being expected with CGWIC in March 2010.
