The White House announced their intent to nominate Jeff DeWit as NASA CFO.  DeWit is the current Arizona Treasurer and was Trump's Arizona campaign head and later COO for the national campaign. A quick google/social media doesn't show any obvious ties (or interest) in space. Looks like prior to getting into politics he was a stock broker.

Considering that this is the Trump Administration, and how Trump doesn't mind nominating completely unqualified people to positions of great importance, this pick doesn't seem as bad. Finance background is good, though doesn't have any experience being a CFO of anything, nor any experience in finance for the U.S. Government.

Like I said, could be worse, though out of 300M U.S. citizens you'd think there would have been someone with better experience to nominate...
If we don't continuously lower the cost to access space, how are we ever going to afford to expand humanity out into space?

Most are smart enough to stay away from DC politics.
