And what about the Dnepr launches with 2 extra digits - is that
4504261304 = 450-(42,61)-304  where the two half-year codes are original and refurbishment dates?

Factory 450. Batch production date code 42. Serial number is 61304.

Hi

I have a question about a Soyuz TM cockpit panel.
Can this serial number notice something?
Flown part, training?

Thanks Mike

I have several such numbers from the London exhibition.

Note that each number refers to a particular instrument of the control panel (eg : KL-107 TV screen), not to the control panel as a whole.

My number is located on the top of the panel.
If no number of a device or component.

Small update to file with all known (to me) serial numbers and another file with serial numbers which may be useful for someone.

Thank you.

One of the problems I have been having is that I can only find details for half the Soyuz rockets for the space station. The contracts for Soyuz-FG rockets for Soyuz-TMA spacecrafts are not continuous; nor for Soyuz-U for Progress.
http://forum.nasaspaceflight.com/index.php?topic=17286.msg1486708#msg1486708
Tenders for insurance covering the movement of rocket from the factory to launch site, sometimes reference a different contract №353-В221/12. I think that may be an international contract.
http://forum.nasaspaceflight.com/index.php?topic=17286.msg1498776#msg1498776

This document references the following contracts, and shows machine series numbers.

№353-1199/13/128 от 08.04.2013г, №353-С203/14/2 от 25.11.2013г., №353-В221/12 от 16.08.2012г..

Thanks to Anik, turns out rocket 3/137 is a Soyuz-FG. And now can say that it was ordered under contract №353-В221/12.

The other two known Soyuz-FG rockets 8/137 and 13/137, come from contract №353-1130/12.

So, I have been looking at the Proton serial numbers and those on their 1st stage engines. Based on visual information, and information that was previously posted in this thread (but has since been removed).

Based on the 1st three digits you can tell the factory. For the Proton, the long serial numbers cycle through three codes: 511, 630 and 492. Likewise each set of engines also alternates codes, but only two: 540 and 671.

I think digits six and seven indicate a set of engines?

Youll notice that a phase I rocket, №53544 fits into this sequence?

Proton-M    Serial  1st stage RD-276                               Batch
tail number number  engine serial numbers                             Set
                       YYXX                                        YY XX
5115656746  93534   5400620684   5400620685 5400620686             06 20
6305656747  93535   6710621688   6710621692 6710621693             06 21
4925656748  93536   5400622700                                     06 22
5115656749  93537   6710623705   6710623706 6710623707             06 23
6305656750  93538   5400624712   5400624714 5400624715 5400624716  06 24
4928877967  93539   6710625720                                     06 25
5118877968  93540   5407626727   5407626728 5407626729             76 26
6308877969  93541   67176277   ?                                   76 27
4928877970  93542   5407628742   5407628744                        76 28
5118877971  93543   67176297   ?                                   76 29
6304837972  53544   5407630757   5407630758 5407630759             76 30
4924877972  93544   6717631762   6717631765 6717631766             76 31
                       YYXX                                        YY XX

The next list, the Proton appear to have been allocated engines out of sequence?

Hmm, I thought that was obvious if you compare it with a long number of 93560...

Not if you consider 4929741150, 4929152343 or 4923861782. It is not always so obvious.

For the Proton, the long serial numbers cycle through three codes: 511, 630 and 492. The 1st phase IV Proton-M, №93701, had tail number 4925390279; the 2nd phase IV Proton-M, №93702, had serial number 6303390280. Do you think there is a tail number in between starting with 511? Perhaps for Proton-M №93562?
