I have a large collection of Delta II &IV;Atlas I, II, III & V; Titan II, III/34D & IV; and Pegasus, Taurus and Minotaur. The collection is by no means complete due to rarity, affordability and actual existence of these patches. Additionally, there may be more than one patch for each mission. Usually, there is patch provided by the payload sponsor/contractor, sometimes, there is a patch provided by the launch vehicle contractor and since the early 90's, USAF organizations (launch squadrons or wings) have been creating patches for launches. I have figured out one way to solve some of problems collecting scans or photos of these patches or even a decal representative of the patch. Anytime a patch comes on Ebay, I save a copy of the photo, in case I don't win the auction. I wish I had done this much earlier. I have also used Worthpoint to look for past action photos.
I was wondering if we can crowd source this? I am doing this to see if there is interest.
I put this on L2 because I am protective of the work I have put into the collection, so far. I did put some low res pdf's of scans with watermarks a few years ago on the open site.
I am trying to figure out how to do this. I am currently updating some excel files showing what I have and what is missing. Maybe those, along with some low res pdf's would be a way to convey what is needed.
After some time has past, I could then share the results in hi res.
Thoughts?

Jim,
Maybe an idea to post the excel once you are done with it, with what you already have and what is still missing (hi/low res column) then the rest reading this can help out searching and posting here to add to the collection.

Is there any software other than Powerpoint or Word to publish photos? I don't like prospect of individually inserting photos over 100 times to create a document.

Adobe Acrobat Pro. Use the Create PDF, select multiple files, highlight all the jpg's. Press the OK button then wait.

How about irfanview? It is free, and you can creat "preview" pdfs from as many pictures as you like. You can name them, select them, and have them exported in a table (you can choose nr. of colums and lines) as pdf. It's easy to learn and quite nice: http://irfanview.tuwien.ac.at/

Attached are printouts from my patch database. It shows the holes in my collection.
A bit of explanation for the column headings.
SLS - Space Launch Squadron, this is the primary USAF organization that makes patches from the booster point of view. there may be multiple entries in that column since there are other launch base organizations (45th or 30th Space Wing, 45th LCSS,etc ) that also produce patches. This column is used on Delta II for MDAC, Boeing, or ULA produced patches/decals on commercial missions.
LV - this is for launch vehicle contractor patches, OSC, Spacex, etc
PL - this for payload contractor or sponsor patches. May have multiple entries due to multiple payloads or when both a contractor and sponsor patch are available.
ULA - this is for ULA, Boeing, and LM patches produced for the EELV launches.
A bit of explanation for the table entries.
X - I have that particular patch I - I have an electronic image of the patch D - I have a decal or decal image. It may be of the patch or just another mission representation.
These are in rank order of desirability. patch patch image decal of patch decal of patch image other mission representation in decal or image form.
files removed. They are all in the file below: ELV Patch Compendium

I am waiting for delivery of Acrobat. Once I receive and install it, I will try to put together some documents with patch images.

Looks fine, like the ability to zoom in. But I did notice that I'm able to extract the photos form the document. Is that what you want to happen?

they would be extractable in a standard PDF, also. Using using the portfolio, the file names are used and I don't have to make any labels.

Sounds good. Are you planning to make a TOC or Index to find specific patches or groups of them?

Done
The Pegasus and Smallsat need more work but that should do for now. I will trade full size photos with those who offer photos.
