In a world exclusive, a new four part interview with Neil Armstrong, filmed on his visit to Australia last year, is now available. The interview is in 4 parts and the first now on line, with the others to be released over the next few weeks.

Armstrong was a guest of CPA Australia to celebrate their 125th anniversary.

Last fall Armstrong showed a video at congressional testimony which showed original Apollo 11 landing footage alongside LRO imagery of the same terrain. Is this available on YouTube somewhere? A quick search turned up nothing.

I wish the interview parts were downloadable - sure I can watch it within the browser, but space fans like me usually like to archive this type of stuff.

The contract with Neil does not allow download, DVD or other forms of distribution or sale.
It will remain on the CPA site for two years.
Part 2 is now up and 3 and 4 will be out on the next two Mondays.

I worked with Neil last year. One of the coolest moments of 2011 for me was when he explained to our small group how he landed the LM. Also told some great stories about flying F-4s out of Edwards for flight testing. They would go up north and set down at some relatively small field, have lunch, and then fly back.

Wait wait wait

They would land the f4 in a field then take off again. These aren't soviet planes that must have been some smooth field

The forth and final episode in now up and will be available for 2 years. Enjoy Neil doing a running commentary of his landing.
Interesting, both on the night in Sydney last year during his speech, when I was lucky enough to have a chat with after the event and throughout this interview series, he never spoke of Buzz by name, always referring to him as copilot, crewmate, etc.

The videos are downloadable by certain means, although not strictly legal.

A point I'd like to raise- The interview seems to be heavily edited. For example, the first part ends with Armstrong beginning to tell a story of his test pilot days. Will the full interview ever be released'

Downloading (by any means) is legal for personal viewing only (so no posting) as indicated by the terms on their site under point 5

Phew! That is good to hear!

Does any one agree that there probably is more the interview than was shown?

Does anyone else share my opinion about it not being the 'full' version?

As in any such interview, I am sure that there would have been sections and scenes that have been edited, trimmed or deleted. By prior agreement, the final cut was required to be personally reviewed and approved by Neil before release.

The videos will remain on CPA site for two years then be donated to the Purdue University, not sure if that will be the entire 'raw' footage or just the final cut.
