I change the clock to local time.

I tried to go on server time but it's just confusing, I can't tell if posts are today or yesterday  :-[

Hmm... I see the posts labelled with UTC, not Texas time as Chris suggested. And that's perfect for me, when I'm trying to follow global events I always work in UTC (GMT) rather than a local time zone. What would be great is if the time was actually labelled
Hmm again - I think there's a bug somewhere. I went into Profile options and set my time format to %Y-%m-%d, %H:%M:%S %Z
where the Z says to label things with time zone.
It says "current forum time ... 0057 GMT - 1"  whereas it's currently 0057 GMT, not GMT-1.  Perhaps it's confused between GMT and BST?

Congratulations to you, Chris, and the entire "Team." I've been coming here for almost six years now, and chipping in comments whenever I can or think something from my experience might be relevant, or I might have an answer to a question. But mostly, I get MY QUESTIONS answered here from both the outstanding articles and from the incredible, diverse, and knowledgeable membership and others who post. Thank you for ensuring this site remains one of the key resources I know of in the world of spaceflight information and a great place to discuss ideas, get feedback, and learn what others are thinking and saying. The value of all of that is incalculable! Thank you again!!!

What he said.

It's a remarkable gathering. I hope that on balance I manage to contribute at least half as much information as I gain.

Thanks 51D and Jonathan! :)

OK
I'm from southern Europe and to me would mean UTC time, but if you can't - ok no problem.

By the way, you did mean the news articles? You didn't mean the forum posts, right? The latter is easy to change for each person via the profile panel.

Dear Chris and all other guys that make this site possible, thank you for these 8 great years.
Nasaspaceflight is really the best spaceflight website, I learned so much here.
I'm a huge fan since the return to flight coverage (I started to read the site in spring / early summer 2005, before the STS114 launch, registered in summer 2005), I wish I could have more time for it.
Its amazing how many people know and love this site. I own a poloshirt with the Nasaspaceflight logo on it (purchased on cafepress a couple of years ago...), when I wear it (as I did during visits of Ksc/STS Launches) people recognize it and its amazing to see how many fans of the site there are out there.
Thank you very very much for the endless hours of information and entertainment,
all the best to you,
stefan

Plans: Keep pushing on, pushing hard, pushing forward, basically! :) We will be installing tapatalk, per request from those people who can afford smart phones (jealous).

Chris: Any update on when tapatalk support might be added to the forums?

Thanks.

It's first on the list. Aaron is going to install it, but we need Mark to hand over some FTP keys and he's extreemly busy. I'll bug him again tomorrow.

No rush, just checking to see if it was still in the queue.

Thanks for the prompt reply.

Any non L2 members noticing a difference with the "Active Topics"?

We're preparing for a major site overhaul and I noticed in one of the admin areas (well, Mark showed me :D) that an Active Topics privilages were L2 only. Changed it to regular members too.

This improvement is quite a eyestrain :( I already made a custom opera usercss that removes it.

Chris and crew, you fellas do a bang-up job with this site! Kind of feels like writing the history book instead of reading it.

Keep it up, and I'll keep paying' my L2 dues! :)

Improving my NSF forum experience

Recently I've realised that I just don't have to time to read everything on these boards as I once did.

To me it feels like I'm going through many posts of people that like to type a lot but don't like to really say much. That's a waste of time.

I really enjoy L2 for all the updates. I intend to keep subscribing because that's one part of the forum that always delivers and doesn't waste my time.

Moderators here do a great job of removing off topic posting and adding stuff to the tag clouds. For this they deserve a pat on the back.

What I have noticed is that sometimes posters aren't as nice to each other as I would like to see. This is going to happen on the internet but I really don't think it's going to win you many friends.

Trying to compliment good posting or give thanks to those that post great updates or news articles isn't that difficult but most don't bother with it. I myself have found myself being less grateful and I don't want to be seen that way because I really am grateful for everything this website provides me.

As these boards grow it's become increasingly difficult for me to keep up, especially in the SpaceX threads which seem to go a million miles an hour.

Being in a strange time zone doesn't help I'm sure. Forums are all about interacting and if the only poster that responds to me is going to be QG we might get at each other which I really want to avoid.

I don't want to single anybody out and I can insight a bit of a riot with my rants at times.

I need to improve for sure but I'm not the only one.

I'd like to apologise to Chris for getting stuck into him when I have issues. There are other mods here and I will endeavour to get them to help me out so I don't waste your time.

My first year on NSF has been an incredible experience. I've learned so much amazing stuff thanks to all the fantastic contributors here.

I hope my next year here is ever better.

...

I for one appreciate your candor and your attitude. Thank you. I hope to continue to see you contribute, ask questions and even politely question those of us who have been around a while.
