I think this is my favorite, since it shows some scale, and it has one of the chase T-38s. I think this was on the second flyby approach to Dulles.

I've got a bunch, but need to bump them up a bit in PhotoShop to bring out the contrast.

Poor Enterprise....
Do these pictures need to be taken in person? (Because I have 16+ hours of video on my computer that I've recorded)

Even the mall at GSFC was a bit crowded today for the flyover with a lot of co-workers bringing their families :-)
I must say, yeah DC got four passes but, there was something about the need of needing to see this event from NASA property (and still having to get 8 hrs of work in!)

I had a nice view from Bolling AFB myself. Wouldn't have missed it in the world. 2nd best way to view short of the launches.

[snip]...i'd have been photographing that moment instead of experiencing it.
I watched both passes and the landing while trying to photograph. After realizing that you don't remember the experience while looking through a lens, I made myself watch and whatever the camera got, it got. Great shots!

Taken from just south of Dulles. A bit more photoshopped than I would have liked, but the overcast left everything washed out. Heading back today to get more.

I'll bet we can easily say that this was the most photographed shuttle ferry flight in history.

In the 2nd picture of Enterprise, there are some marks on the RCC panels. Might they be from the testing done during the CAIB testing? I had heard that some wing panels were borrowed from Enterprise.

Yeah. Also some marks on the landing gear door. I was present for one of the tests that scraped the tiles on the door.

Thanks for the response, it must have been interesting to be there at the tests, although I'm sure everyone involved would have rather not of had to do any such testing in the 1st place. I just happened to find a pic that shows the RCC panel areas removed for the CAIB studies. 2 of my fav. Discovery pics, ones a great head shot, and the other shot shows Discovery's buxom backside. She is such a pretty lady that has all the right equipement that drives humans "out of this world". I only wish that these were personal photos that I had taken personally as that would have meant I was snapping photos from the ISS. Sorry about the thread hijack. Welcome home Discovery!!!
