Access to Soyuz images in about the week; the cards are still in the Soyuz which is in transfer to Moscow.

Imagery from the fly-not-about is safely inside the Soyuz still, and will be available in about a week.

EVA went great, all tasks completed plus one get-ahead.  Stuff that flew into the eye was probably anti-fog coating which is dish soap.  ISLE went great but won't be used on EVA-4 because of the failed CO2 sensor.  STS-135 is baselining ISLE for their single EVA.  That EVA will be conducted by ISS crew (so really a stage EVA conducted during STS-135, I think).

Fascinating, so they changed their published procedure of downloading them on a laptop at the site. Now leaving them on the Soyuz and sending them to Moscow with the rest of the cargo...

Derek Hassmann

EVA went really really well
After 1 and 2 it was gratifying to see the crew get ahead and complete all the planned tasks and a get ahead.
Proud of the ground team and the crew
ISLE caused no medical issues, no difference from campouts or pre breath, crew gave positive feedback

Have decided not to use it on EVA 4
1 difference between campout and ISLE is the time crew has on LIHO canisters
In a campout crew gets 40 mins more on LIHO canisters
Concerned about possible issues with C02 sensor on Greggs suit, due to having to assume worst case scenario if the sensor fails
Expect LISE to be used on future EVA’s

Allison Bolinger

Fabulous to see ISLE come to a reality
EVA duration 6:40
All tasks completed plus a get ahead
Started getting some tools bags and headed to port side of FGB
Set up bags and removed some MLI
Expected to release 5 layers of MLI found 7
Crew handled this
Head back to airlock and got PDGF frame and cabling
Got it back to port side of FGB, locked feet down and installed video signal conditioner
Routed some cables
Then secured worksite and began installing port y jumpers
Install went as planned
Ground checked them out
Then took a tool bag down to the lab to finish the task from EVA 1
Released the fasteners on the MMOD shield
Released the MLI and ground inhibited station UHF radio
Still communicated via Shuttle
Installed new cable, closed the shield. Fasteners have caused issue in the past. Only need 2 /3 to secure it.
Crew installed 2 fine, retaining wire on 3rd fastener had slid out of place
Had a tool to work it, but decided to leave it
Then stowed the old cable and went to the FGB to work on starboard Y jumper install
Ground confirmed connections on port side
Expected starboard side to be a bit trickier due to rats nest of wires
Installed cable
Then took some photos of FGB thrusters and packed tool bags
Believe Drew got anti fog solution (dish washing soap) in his eyes
Went to ELC 3 and took photos of DOD payload
Installed MLI on a gas tank
Piece of installation on CTC MLI had come loose last night and Drew fixed this
Then decided to ingress

Questions

Q:  Did the air force request some images of there payload last night ?

A: DOD request before launch. Got them some baseline data they didn’t get on whilst it was on the ground

Q: 1553 cable on EVA 4?

A: Still on the table, teams talking about it now

Q: How long was ISLE tested on the ground?

A: A few years

Q: Would you be using ISLE for EVA 4 if there had not been the C02 sensor issue on EVA 1 ?

A: Yes

Q: Device drew used to rub his eye ?

A: Valsaver device. Used to clear ears. It’s a foam block adhered to inside of visor. Similar to what you do to clear ears on a plane.

Q: Status of post undock pictures ?

A: Imagery from 25S are still in the Soyuz. Being sent to Moscow and will be processed as normal. Should have them within a week. No reason to think there lost or damaged.

Q: How do you imagine the FGB PDGF will be used ?

A:  There are scenarios where we would relocate PMM,  PDGF would be a good base for PMM relocate. Gives us access to AFT end of Russian segment. Gives extra reach with station arm

Q: This the only PDGF on Russian segment ?

A: Yes

Q: Comms issue in Quest airlock ?

A: Not aware of any comms issue that occurred today. Will find out

Q: When was the EVA added to 135 and whats the timeline?

A: Not sure

Q: Is there a specific job the PDGF was installed for ?

A: For a future PMM relocation. Beyond that gives us extra flexibility and access.

Sorry if I missed it:  is the PDGF fully operational, or did they have to defer data-cable deploy?  Nice to see the wireless antenna work get completed--well done!

So was Jim Oberg's rumor true or false?

He said.... "I'm hearing some worried murmurs from contacts -- the separation image cards can't seem to be found. Anybody know more?"

So he's passing on what his contacts are saying, probably based on the "We'll have them uploaded midday Tuesday", to Kylie's "maybe tomorrow" to Derek's "They are still on the Soyuz, a week away".

That would raise alarm bells, so you can see where the rumor's come from, but accroding to Mr Hassmann they are secure, which is the main thing.

It'd be interesting to know why they decided against uploading them at the landing site, why Paolo left the cards on the Soyuz, and why they can't even upload them for a week. Something changed, and the way they are downplaying potentially the most iconic images ever is strange.
