Hard to say how far something like this will go.

Looking at it geographically, BC is a poor location for anything but polar operation.  And even then, it would be mediocre.

A good Canadian launch site would need to be in Nova Scotia or Newfoundland, with Newfoundland actually being better. A launch site on the bottom of Newfoundland, near the Avalon Wilderness Reserve, would be able to access the ISS with little problem, for instance.

Well they'd love it if that could happen. Of course everyhting would be either flow in or transported by boat. And weather in the North Atlantic is brutal, so recovery ops (if required) would be limited. At least with Cape Breton (in Nova Scotia), they could transport quite a bit over land & rail, or hug the coastline by ship/barge.

If they launched in northen BC though, the chance of flying over populated areas is minimal, though the native indians may have issue with it regardless (plus forest fires if that should come to pass). Agree though that this would primarily be for polar orbits.

All this has a 0-5% chance of happening, and even that may be generous.

They seem serious about this...

I'm still a bit skeptacle they can make a business case for it. Much easier (and cheaper) to just buy launches from the range of commercial suppliers already out there.

Looks like more of a wish list web site to me.  Any real $$ or government interest in this?
