Isn't it standard practice to have redundancy in control circuits, as well as the components they're controlling? It sounds like this fault was just too far down the chain of command for redundancy to really have any effect.

Anyway, I admire the thoroughness of these guys - The engineering and ground testing must be excellent for them to be confident enough to fly their first rocket with a paying customer's payload.

First launch attempt is on Feb 8th at 4:30pm California time.  Feb 9th is a backup date (and my birthday...wouldn't that be a nice present).
