I'm going to be abnoxious, but people would have to be either stupid or just plain sad not to get excited about that. Epic stuff, any way you shake it!

Truly epic, and I loved the shot right after the solid boosters detached where they are slowly rotating away, so slowly, so beautifully.  Lovely!!!

She's up there. :) NASA TV showed  a lot of people there to witness the launch. KSC was packed with viewers to see Discovery fly one last time.

I bet a lot of people got choked up seeing the launch, knowing this was Discovery's last launch.

I managed to get five people who have never watched a live launch before to watch it tonight.  I am a very happy person :)

It took me over an hour to start breathing again!

I couldn't be more proud of my Lockheed Martin Michoud Team.

Way to go Team! We proved it again. The ET team rocks!

Party tonite and back at it tomorrow reviewing tank photos.

Thanks to all for the hard work.

That was one of the most dramatic launches I can remember in a long time.

Way to go Discovery you will certainly be missed.

That was epic. It was sad and aw inspiring. I always knew it would be a sad day when we finally reached this point, the last flight of an orbiter. But Discover did not dissapoint it was truely a beautiful launch aside from that foam impact. I wish her and her crew a safe and succesful mission on this her final flight.

Fly True Discovery.

Great job by all.

I was down for STS-129, and Discovery completely roared over what I remember for 129.  Completely roared.  Pants and shirt were shaking in the sound that she was producing.  Simply amazing.

Had us all dropping jaws and tearing up around here.  Just a great day.

HELL'S YEA!

I got see see the Great White Whale fly.  It was as awesome as promised, and I got a couple of money shots on my camera I'll post when I get home (but I didn't spend the whole launch looking through my camera.  I set up the tripod, framed the shot, then held down the shutter button.  So I did get to experience it with my own eyes and totally see why people say to do that.  The flame plumes just aren't captured correctly on film.) .  Thanks to all for putting up with me through this ordeal (and my "uber" enthusiasm and emotionalism).  And I got to meet a bunch of cool Australian's and had a good time with.  What can I say, people like me.  ;-)

Great meeting everyone at the dinner last night too.  Thanks to all.
I already started celebrating on the way back to the hotel (beat sitting in that insane traffic around the Cape), and will go out to do some more.

Party on Discovery!  Woot!
