Please note, as much as we keep improving the servers - the amount of people who hit the site during these major events is an astonishing peak. We are - by far - the most used forum for multiple space flight subjects, including SpaceX, so it is understandable that during major events for these subject areas, we can be overloaded.

As such, during these major events, we may suffer from occasional "bad gateway"/sluggish issue which occur when there's a bottleneck of thousands of people hitting the site at the same second.

However, to help mitigate this, we can make this forum member only (removing guest access) if we become sluggish, which is a good way to prioritize smooth access to the site to those who need it the most.

To be a member of NSF takes a few seconds to register, it is free, we do not use your e-mail for any purpose other than to confirm your membership. http://forum.nasaspaceflight.com/index.php?action=register - is where you can register and create a membership here - again, for free.

The weather is a 90% Go today for the Wednesday 6:03 PM launch attempt. Upper level winds look much better.

It's the last try before the Moon comes too close into the launch trajectory, which could cause more fuel to be used to avoid its gravity. If another scrub happens, the next attempt is no earlier than February 20.

No ASDS landing attempt today. :(

Quote
SpaceX is still tracking towards a 6:03pm ET liftoff of DSCOVR, but unfortunately we will not be able to attempt to recover the first stage of the Falcon 9. The drone ship was designed to operate in all but the most extreme weather. We are experiencing just such weather in the Atlantic with waves reaching up to three stories in height crashing over the decks. Also, only three of the drone ship’s four engines are functioning, making station-keeping in the face of such wave action extremely difficult. The rocket will still attempt a soft landing in the water through the storm (producing valuable landing data), but survival is highly unlikely.

I think we can trust this guy enough to be part of the updates :)

So no ASDS landing, but the primary mission is looking good. Into prop loading and upper level winds are green.

Green Upper Level winds. They did creep up earlier, but went back down again.

Shouldn't reality posts be in "Advanced concepts"?  --Nomadd
