Okay, here we go:

Execute package for FD-09:

http://www.nasa.gov/pdf/180163main_fd09_ex_pkg.pdf

Should be an uneventful day.

Notice in the Execute package there is discussion of possibly bringing the 2 "failed" Russian computers back on Atlantis.

I say "uneventful" as this should be less stressful than the previous few days...

The Russian crew was sent instructions for doing the wiring jumpers on the last 2 computers this morning. (MCCM asked them to get started on it as soon as they could.)

I'm not up on nomenclature as you guys but I think he wasn't happy with the format of the morning execute package. Said he knows English and Russian but couldn't figure it out.... Then said he didn't mean to be condensating....

Ground then said they will work on it and said if he had trouble "Suni could help him" ... ouch......

I think they miss Suni already, as do we all..... Very worthy of setting that record this morning.....

Latest news from MCC-H is that they have conserved enough cryos to support one extra docked day and that they hve decided to transfer 55 lbs of O2 to station.

And Atlantis has been fully cleared for entry.

The ability to stay an extra day was gained a few days ago. But I'm assuming they've just given that to the crew officially?

So they can stay an extra day AND transfer that much O2?  I thought it was going to be one or the other.

Offline Chris Bergin

Thanks Dave. This 'should' clear Endeavour from LON requirements, although I've always assumed they prefer to keep working a schedule that supports LON through to the clearance via late inspections.

Any USA/NASA guys got the full story on that?

Let me check. Latest we had is they had capacity for 1.3 extra docked days (on top of this already included two extra days). Consumables were O2 for the Fuel Cells as the defining factor, so it's a good question.

Probably a moot point now (thankfully), but if Endeavour was on LON, how quick could the turnaround be considering the booster stacking just finished, the ET hasn't been mated and the orbiter is still under scaffolding in the OPF?

We had a series of conversations via some information that was on L2. The conversation was kept there to avoid any misrepresentation of OV-105's processing requests relating to LON. This is now less of a case so I can answer this here.

Endeavour's rollover date of July 5 was reachable and some work allowed/allows for an acceleration of this rollover date for mating. We would have been able to support LON if called, which is now downgraded due to successful port OMS pod blanket repair.

To answer when LON standdown happens, it is usually based around the results of Flight Day 2 and Flight Day 3 inspections and RPM. This wasn't the case with this flight due to OMS pod failing requirements. NASA may inform LON standdown now, although we always work to the last scenario and should the very unlikely case of MMOD damage ocure in the meantime and Atlantis can return to ISS, then we can support.

I should note, and as emphazed, all LON processing requirements noted over this mission were normal and expected. Specific to this mission and OMS pod repair, but totally within the norm for contractor (USA) fufilment of NASA requirements.

Interesting conversation between CJ and Capcom on the undocking computations in the case of off nominal attitude control with the ISS.

Spoke of page 344 of the Shuttle/ISS Joint Ops handbook.

Amazingly relaxed day for STS-117 compared to other flightdays. So what's the plan now?

Flight Day 10 Attitude Test/EVA-4
Flight Day 11 Preps for undock, final transfers
Flight Day 12 Undock
Flight Day 13 Late Inspections
Flight Day 14 Land.

Flight Day 12 Undock

That's pretty much the end game plan if things stay stable on ISS.

Actually after checking the NASA TV schedule this is the plan:
FD 10: EVA-4/RS MCS check-out
FD 11: ORB/ISS crew farewell and hatch closure
FD 12: Undock, fly-around and late inspections
FD 13: FCS check-out, RCS hotfire, stow KU antenna
FD 14: Landing.

Joint crew conference coming up in an hour.

Was the conference delayed? Because 7:43 ET or 6:43 CT is a few minutes from now.  ;)

EDIT: oops, my mistake, usually the posts go much faster, so assumed you posted it just now. Please delete.

Amazingly relaxed day for STS-117 compared to other flightdays.

It's a dull day for the mission. Each one has one, this is STS-117s. All changes from tomorrow.

That's pretty much the end game plan if things stay stable on ISS.

Actually after checking the NASA TV schedule this is the plan:
FD 10: EVA-4/RS MCS check-out
FD 11: ORB/ISS crew farewell and hatch closure
FD 12: Undock, fly-around and late inspections
FD 13: FCS check-out, RCS hotfire, stow KU antenna
FD 14: Landing.

Any idea when the undocking will take place?

George -- I know that my wife's code runs on the Station's IBM Thinkpad A31P laptop....it's an ASP.net app, so I assume the laptop is running 2000 Server.

That is good news as the ISS toilet was going to be full by FD13 if the computers had stayed down  :o
