In my experience, experts in anything tend to think they have a problem to solve.

I'm not certain there are any parachute experts.

Parachutes have been undergoing continuous development for over 200 years.  Of course there are parachute experts.

There should probably be a dedicated Mars Sample Return thread here. But I've noticed the tendency for that discussion to get sidetracked as "SpaceX will do it" and completely ignore that there's actual studies and research going on in that field. So here:
