China.org.cn: 3 astronauts confirmed for Shenzhou VII Missionhttp://www.china.org.cn/china/sci_tech/2008-09/16/content_16461516.htm"China has chosen Zhai Zhigang, Liu Boming and Jing Haipeng as the astronauts to carry out its third manned space mission later this month."
Rusty_BartonThis article has pictures of the chosen crew members and also states that the mission will last 68-hours.http://babelfish.yahoo.com/translate_url?doit=done&tt=url&intl=1&fr=bf-home&trurl=http%3A%2F%2Fbig5.xinhuanet.com%2Fgate%2Fbig5%2Fwww.yn.xinhuanet.com%2Finfo%2F2008-09%2F16%2Fcontent_14406548.htm&lp=zh_en&btnTrUrl=Translate
Another article on Shenzhou 7:http://english.peopledaily.com.cn/90001/6499787.htmlThe last paragraph is interesting:"The Shenzhou VII mission is crucial to its two successors Shenzhou VIII and IX, which will be blasted off next year to help set up a space laboratory complex in 2010."My understanding prior to this was that Shenzhou 8,9 and 10 would all be launched within a month of each other to assemble a mini-lab, and not until 2010.This note implies a docking mission next year, then a mini-lab in 2010.

Here is an interview of Cui JieJun, director of JiuQuan satellite lanuch center, in Sep 16th 2008.http://www.chinanews.com.cn/gn/news/2008/09-16/1383010.shtmlHis prediction(in the last paragraph) is more like your prior understanding. He said that after Shenzhou 7, a spacecraft(kind of connector) will be launched. Than unmanned Shenzhou 8 will be launched to dock with this spacecraft. And than unmanned Shenzhou 9 will be launched to dock with this spacecraft too. And fanally manned Shenzhou 10 will be launched to dock with this spacecraft to form a mini-lab.
Is there any reference to the timetable of this launches?
Any idea about the designation of the SubSat that will be launched toghether with Shenzhou-7?
