And they really, really, really mean it this time!  ;)

The launch had already been postponed to late November at the earliest and is likely not before next year now. However that could change.

Spaceflightnow.com is the source for launch dates and information.

It is going to be a worse pad-sitter than Titan ever thought about being.

Yep. Strike has kept this launch off the target of today. No launch and not this year either by the looks of it.

Apparently Boeing are trying to bring in support staff to launch without striking workers. The strikers are trying to protest they are not qualified. Anyone with other details?

I haven't seen anything specific about the Delta IV GEOS launch, but here's a recent article about processing the New Horizons upper stage:

Workers cleared for rocket jobs
(Florida Today)
"The company says the replacement technicians and inspectors are highly experienced and hold all of the required certifications.

"They are essentially the managers of the people who are on strike," Boeing spokeswoman Tina Lange said Friday. "These are very qualified people. In many cases, they are the people who hired and trained the people who are on strike."

The developer of NASA's New Horizons spacecraft -- Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory -- on Thursday concurred with a Boeing plan to use replacement workers to process a Star 48 upper stage that will propel the probe on the world's first mission to Pluto."

SCABS IN SPACE!!!  ;)

My boss couldn't do my job, but Boeing probably has a lot of redundancy in personnel.  Maybe they can pull it off.  Still, I wouldn't want my satellite to launch in these conditions.  The Johns Hopkins guys must be sweating bullets.

Cool. Anyone with an idea of when they are setting the launch attempt date as?

By anyone you mean me ;-)

They have no date in mind at all right now. It's sitting there ready to go. But whenever they decide it's sure to be about two weeks of at the least.

Follow up question on this for you Ben. Are there specific windows for this launch and a date where if they pass it they have to give up and try for sometime next year?

There was a blackout period from August 16 to about Oct 5 when the orbit would take it into too much shadow to deploy the array, but that has passed. I don't know of any coming up now.
