Shenzhou 6 recovery
« on: 05/12/2017 10:43 pm »
Shenzhou 6 remains the only piloted Chinese mission to have landed during darkness, although unmanned Shenzhou spacecraft routinely did this.

Has anyone seen a reason for the Chinese doing this?   Delaying the launch time by about two hours would have ensured a dawn recovery, like Shenzhou 5.   Maybe the Chinese simply wanted to demonstrate that they could recover a crew in darkness, of course.
