 Thanks to everyone here for great coverage, I was only able to catch the tail end today and missed all the excitement with shields flying away and ground team Macgyverism  8)

Has there been any word yet about a review board for the loss of the cover?  I'm not interested in pointing fingers, but it seemed as though the tethering protocol for the covers was reviewed by the Ground just before they got started, but there were sure a lot of pieces moving around while the EVA team was getting things sorted out, and something got missed.

Lost shield spotted from Earth.
On April 3rd, veteran satellite observer Marco Langbroek of Leiden, the Netherlands, spotted the wayward shield zipping through the Big Dipper: "The shield was 1 minute in front of the ISS when I made this image using my Canon EOS 60D digital camera," says Langbroek. "The two bright stars are kappa and iota Uma. "
