I found this master's thesis "The Space Shuttle: An Attempt at Low-cost, Routine Access to Space," by Jeffrey D. Wonch, published September 1990.
This was written towards his Master of Science degree at the USN Naval Postgraduate School. The PDF is a file in their on-line archives.
I thought it might be of interest to our forum contributors.
