Forgive me if I'm repeating a well-known fact here:
This is the last flight of this type of modified Progress M.  Progress MS is the new replacement model delivering cargo to ISS.

Last model? Russians usually interleave a couple of models when doing transitions. Specially with such a critical one like the MS that changes almost everything and comes close after the Progress-M/Soyuz-1A integration failure.

I checked Satori's launch list in this forum, and Gunter's web site.

Gunter's list of production numbers has Progress M-29M listed as No. 429, and Progress MS listed as No. 431.  Is that a clue as to how the manufacturer views the scope of changes introduced in the new model vs. the model being retired?

I do see on the lists that a few later Progress MS craft will be launched on Soyuz-U.

430 exists solely as spare parts and could be built  but is not planned.
The original plan was to fly the models that way but the last two progress failures led to testing occurring differently and now will not over lap.
as a result the changes are now being phased in one Progress at a time versus the original plan of Progress MS having all of the changes at once on the first flight.

For Progress? That's right - both Progress M-28M and Soyuz TMA-18M had to fly the 2 day profile due to constant ISS orbital changes that knocked orbital phasing off.
