MER Mars rover rocker-bogie suspensions (the most difficult part to build in a rover model):
http://www.sculpteo.com/en/design/mer-bogie-suspension-1/qGTjPrVv?basket=1&noclickredirect=1

Pancam and antennas:
http://www.sculpteo.com/en/design/pancam-1/36RVyoNo?basket=1&noclickredirect=1

The remaining parts are just the body and the panels, which would cost a lot to print, but can easily be done in cardboard, so there isn't actually need to 3d-print them.

I'm now working to tune the robotic arm to make it printable.

The rocker-bogie has the minimum possible printable size: with this size, the "arms" are around 1 mm thick. I don't know the scale w.r.t. real size of the rover.

Antennas (high and low gain) are join together to prevent low-gain from being lost due to its small size, they must be detached before mounting.

Wheels can not rotate in this version.

Nice.  What scale are these?

As I said, I don't know, as I don't know real size of the rover.

A number of 1/32 scale LM parts have been made available through Shapeways (just search for 'lunar module').  These include the bottom of the descent stage, descent engine bell, parts of the landing gear, and a few other small pieces.  Some are developed by Vincent Meens, who has legendary skills (his 1/24 scratch-built LM looks real).  Not all parts are made by him, so there may be fit issues, but if you have the urge to do a 1/32 LM, these might be for you.  (Note: there are also  parts from the 'contractor model,' different from the final version; read the descriptions carefully before buying!)

UPDATE to my post in the 3D printing space related under the Advanced.

Yes I'm very excited by this game changing technology.   Printing 3D prints in full color.  The machine looks very much like a ink jet printer.

I just received the 1/72 and 1/48 astronauts in shuttle EMUs available from Max Grueter on Shapeways.  The astros are exquisite.  There are two poses, one with feet apart for free-floating, and one with feet together as in a foot restraint.  The figures have SAFER units on the backpacks, with headlights of course.

Jeff

ps- if I am able to successfully convert the .3ds HST model from NASA into a printable form, I've got the 1/48 scale Diorama of Doom coming up!

NASA Just Released an Entire Library of 3D Printable Models

http://tinyurl.com/n75z8wd

"All the files are in STL format and NASA is offering them as free downloads. Several of the objects have been divided in half to allow them to print without the need for support structures, and each model is no longer than 4 inches in any direction so they will easily fit within the build space of most home/desktop 3D printers. "

"This is most likely only the beginning of NASA releasing 3D printable files, as they have a huge library of 3D models just waiting for conversion. "

The page you linked to contains lots of 3D models that aren't necessarily printable. The printable models are on this page:

They are not ready-to-print:

This .stl file was produced by scaling the original model and converting it directly to .stl format; it may not yet be ideal for printing. We welcome your feedback on your experience.

There's a lot of work to do to make them printable.

I have completed all parts for a 1/32 or 1/24 lunar module descent stage. You can find details on my instruction pages at http://spacemodels.nuxit.net/1-32%20LM/index.htm and parts in my shapeways shop (http://www.shapeways.com/shops/spacemodels?section=1%2F32+Lunar+Module&s=0. Below is a picture of my 1/32 descent stage besides an old 1/48 Revell descent stage.

looks like some internal program is in the works at NASA as they put out a solicitation for several high end printers.  http://www.3dsystems.com/3d-printers/professional/projet-660pro

Someone at KSC needs some expensive 3D printers ::)

SpaceX - Fractals Sculpture by @Dizingof - Dedicated to Elon Musk
http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:32976

This sculpture is dedicated to Elon Musk - Founder of SpaceX and a visionary:
wired.com/wiredscience/2012/10/ff-elon-musk-qa/

Few words about the sculpture:
You can see a mighty Rocket launching with fire blasting in a Spherical shape.

Design inspired by an Ancient Mayan "Airplane" and Nasca Vally drawings in Peru.

Hi Prober,

This model is no longer available or the link quit working.  I tried searching for it but had no luck.   Do you have it?
Thanks Dave

This file is up again and FREE (atm)
