I've made some more models

http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:46073 - Soyuz

http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:46136 - ATV

More space type models are a very good thing.  It was a very nice surprise the other day.   ;D

Does anyone have any dimension drawings of the current version of Shenzhou? I only have some of the old version.

What's the price of materials for each of these small items?

Most 3d printers use PLA or ABS plastic.  Prices for a roll of material run in the $ 3x.xx dollar range.

Price of materials can be in the cents maybe 40cents or so.  Keep in mind designs are controlled for thickness, size etc. So many variables to the question.

Hi Prober,

I've seen all the outstanding 3D printed Shuttle models and know now that's possible printing such a model of an entire Shuttle stack (Orbiter & ET & SRBs) also in 1:160.

Please could you tell me how it would be as expensive?

very hard to answer, many variables.

Material costs very low, but times becomes the major factor. What is the person who is printing's time worth?   It comes down to hours of printing depending on the quality wished for as you can alter the height of material, thickness inside etc.

You might wish to submit the print your interested in to one of the service bureaus and get a rough idea of price.  Many times this works for some projects.   Some projects its better to buy your own printer as they are low cost and quality is getting much better each day.

good idea to check out this thread and watch the video (very old now and obsolete)

Remix of Moriza's awesome Opportunity Mars Rover
Original Model :http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:59509

Remix http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:83863
Main Changes:
  • Replacement Solar Panel Frames:
     These solar panel frame models replace the original models and bring them in line with the sizes of the solar panels included in the original download.
     Opportunity_solarback -> Opportunity_solarback_MCEDIT
     Opportunity_solarmain -> Opportunity_solarmain_left_MCEDIT & Opportunity_solarmain_right_MCEDIT
  • Extended Rear Solar Panel Support:
     The Rear Brace Extension piece extends the rear solar panel supports, to take into account the enlarged solar panels.
  • Replacement Wheel Set:
     The new wheel pack provides a thicker connection between the wheel body and hub, socketed hub design, and a profile of the spiral flexure pattern used on the Mars Exploration Rovers.
