Hi Prober,I've seen all the outstanding 3D printed Shuttle models and know now that's possible printing such a model of an entire Shuttle stack (Orbiter & ET & SRBs) also in 1:160. Please could you tell me how it would be as expensive?
very hard to answer, many variables. Material costs very low, but times becomes the major factor. What is the person who is printing's time worth? It comes down to hours of printing depending on the quality wished for as you can alter the height of material, thickness inside etc. You might wish to submit the print your interested in to one of the service bureaus and get a rough idea of price. Many times this works for some projects. Some projects its better to buy your own printer as they are low cost and quality is getting much better each day. good idea to check out this thread and watch the video (very old now and obsolete)http://forum.nasaspaceflight.com/index.php?topic=30985.0Edit: add link
I've started on Cygnus but I'm waiting until its ISS mission before I finish it.
