Well, we hope so. The ISS crew have been told where to look, and the ISS cameras have caught the Soyuz re-entering. But no-one on the ISS has seen the shuttle re-enter. The distance between the two craft is now 200 miles.

I thought it would be more fun over here... ;)

But what's with Leroy breaking tradition with a blue shirt? Doesn't he know that NASA mission control guys are *always* supposed to wear white shirts and dark ties? :)

Welcome.

If NASA Twix isn't too busy maybe he'll go and ask him for us :)

He told me he's doing some back-up ops for FDO, but might have time on breaks to pop on here.

Chris, that graphic you posted showing the ground track for Discovery and the WB-57 locations also marked a HALO-II. A little googling reveals that to be a modified gulfstream High ALtitude Observatory, used by the Missile Defence Agency to monitor missile tests. I wonder if it is part of the "other agencies actively involved in the mission" (along with NRO) that Wayne Hale has been so cagey about. I haven't seen the HALO mentioned anywhere else before now.

Could be, and they don't have to tell us if it involves military systems.

OPF 1 I believe and it's later in the day after SSME are placed into drain position. I don't think they leave her out there for too long.
