Two launch Falcon 9 in 2014 and 2017:

http://www.igs.org/event/newcastle2010/assets/pdf/0405%20Liu%20-%20Occultation%20TEC%20measurements%20from%20Formosat-3-COSMIC%20%28Newcastle%202010%29.pdf

In this presentation is no word, that a Falcon-9 will be used. Only that NOAA will provide the launch vehicle.

Really -- that picture is of a Minotaur booster launching FORMOSAT-3 (compare it to the launch picture on slide 9).

The company's Commercial Launch Services marketing arm has arranged a deal to boost the GeoEye 2 spacecraft to orbit in late 2012 from Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif.

A 401-configuration of the Atlas 5 will be used for the GeoEye 2 mission to reach a Sun-synchronous orbit covering the planet from pole to pole.

WASHINGTON — Hawthorne, Calif.-based Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX) has shifted a planned Oct. 23 launch of its Falcon 9 rocket and Dragon cargo vessel to November.

“Our targeted launch date is moving — we’ve submitted a request for November 8th or 9th and are waiting for the range to complete their standard deconfliction work and provide a formal approval,” SpaceX spokeswoman Kirstin Brost said in a Sept. 21 e-mail.

Minotaur 1 / NRO L-66 launch in March 2011 from Vandenberg
Interesting to see an NRO mission on such a small rocket. The high launch number suggests that it has been added to the manifest fairly recently, so my educated guess would be that it is a hyperspectral imaging satellite. It has been reported that TacSat-3 is being used for operational reconnaissance, but since it was only designed as a technology demonstrator it would be logical to assume that the NRO would want a dedicated spacecraft to replace it. If the lead time were short, I would expect the spacecraft to be based on the existing design, so we could see something that looks quite like TacSat-3.

Delta IVH / NRO L-32 launch on November 4
Minotaur 1 / NRO L-66 launch in March 2011 from Vandenberg

Is november 4th the official target date?

The ULA website says that too, but I read other places about it being November 5th.
THis is important to me because I'm planning to come down for the STS-133 launch, but am planning to fly home on Nov 5th.  So if the D4H launch is Nov 4th, I could maybe catch it too!
But if it's the 5th, I'd have to beg the wife to let me extend my "guy's trip" another day...that might be pushing it.
So is it looking like the 4th, or 5th?

It's on the fifth.  It could always slip further, but unlikely to move backwards.
