Looks like L.A. is the place to put an ASDS if you want to put your ASDS in a place that has a lot of people with good cameras and the ability to use them.  We might not need a cruise ship at this pace.

Based on what the security guard said it might be a good idea for anyone else going that way to keep their eyes open for supplies being built up or facilities changes at other locations nearby.

...
Should this berth be the actual base of operations SpaceX uses for rocket unloading and Dragon recoveries, it should provide ample opportunity for great views of their operations from multiple vantage points so long as they don't close off the public roads in the area.

Wow, nice shots.  thanks.
I don't think there's any way they can close Miner street because that's the only access road to the SS Lane Victory berthed at the end.  The ship is a museum and they hold public functions so Miner Street has to remain open.  Of course SX can move the Marmac but that doesn't appear to be happening in the near future.

@Helodriver
That is a thorough set. Thanks!  I guess no modifications on NRC Quest's deck yet?  Snaps of yellow generators would be cool if any, might give a clue to fuel consumption rate and hence an idea on station keeping duration. from that Mega 1 composite I can catch a fuzzy glimpse of corner and it seems those are 'UNIT 4038' weighing 18000lbs and their specs are somewhere I think if not in NOV's brochure.

In front of Rhea on ground those could be new mounts for bigger thrusters like the ones on deck.

Carnival Fascination in position.  All quiet on the eastern front.  Nominal, as they say.  Other than that there are no people scurrying about.  None near the ASDS, some activity back toward the ships. I wonder if the same group is heading west to do ASDS prepping there.?.

Gotta turn the ships around every now and then so they don't get too much sun on one side.

I hope they get the 'perfect' ten on tan..

Edit:  Port View! Dull days nothing worth a video.

Edit2: NRC Quest back to its initial spot.

Thanks for these!

The lack of activity might be just a rest & recreation break (a few days of vacation time) while the people who did the recent work on OCISLY are in Los Angles working on the west coast ASDS.

My guess; we might not see much activity on OCISLY until we're within a few weeks of another east coast recovery attempt.

Totally agreed. I also hope they've got a good supply of sunscreen.

They are removing containers from Go Quest's cargo deck and ElsbethIII is at stern of OCISLY.

Nah I see it as movie so I can spot activity :)

And another port view you can see those 10 ft containers removed from Go Quest's deck. All activity is in and around boats nothing on deck...

Highly unlikely it's CRS-7 debris in those containers - they would have unloaded that right away when they got in.

However, I've been wondering if in the aftermath of CRS-7 that some thought has been given to upgrading the Go Quest's capabilities to do search and recovery should that be necessary again.  What that would entail I have no idea, though.

Or maybe SX is expecting a rather long time until the next time GQ will need those containers and they are letting it go do some other contract meanwhile. :(

Well it only took a day to get the containers off, so it probably won't take too long to get then back on, either.  I think it's a safe bet they're at least a week from launching again.

Seeing the crane standing there with nothing to lift makes me sad.

What an awesome picture!

As for the loss of CRS-7, look at it this way - would you have signed up for 17 straight successes when F9 first flew?  How about all the propulsive landing development successes?

So it's happened, and it's history, and too bad, but just one look at this picture and me personally, I'm just smiling  :)

Rats.  For the briefest moment, I thought the picture was from the West Coast.  Is that a nuclear plant in the background?

Edit: Answering my own question - No it isn't a nuclear plant.  Sorry, I need to look up stuff before posting.
