Good Lord, what did I start? :)  The  thread was origianlly about Bruce Willis at NASA.  But since we got this ball rolling, here's  another movie I thought of, still much more realistic and somewhat forgotten:  Clint Eastwood in "Space Cowboys" from the summer of 2000 with Donald Sutherland and James Garner among others.  Had a lot of NASA Compicity in that one, even starred Lisa Malone briefly at her old Firing Room job.  (no pun intended for those who know what I mean...)

Somewhat silly  but entertaining and almost  plausible, as compared to a bunch of jocks from an oil rig landing on an asteroid and nuking it.

Incidentally for real movie fans you can research aboslutely anything on almost any TV show or film at  www.imdb.com

"Easy Frank, she's not a fighter jet" - after Eastwood uses FRCS to flip over the orbiter and to aid deorbit due to having only a bit of prop left in one OMS Pod. There's a bit in there for all of us :)

If we could just get the Russians to sell us whatever behemoth booster they used to get that IKON satellite into orbit in the movie, maybe we wouldn't need an Ares 5.   :)

If you don't see how this relates to Bruce Willis heading to KSC, the connection is obvious.  Just think about it.   ;)

Oh, don't get me wrong, it's an awful movie. Was just talking in general...

Edit: relating to Armageddon, I mean.

I thought Deep Impact was much better.  I liked the fact the media didn't make a big deal a black man played to president.

But I bet Mr. Willis can really ROCK!!!

I just watched the simpsons scenes... never saw those!  Loved the view over the potato chip with Homer spinning toward it, and then the side shot! Hillarious.  As a fan of both simpsons and especially 2001:ASO, that just... touched me.  :P
