Author Topic: NOTICE: Server Reboots - Friday Nov 18, 6am UTC, Sunday Nov 20, 6am UTC  (Read 2120 times)

Our host in Texas is doing some upgrades that require the reboot of our servers. Both at very quiet times of day for the site and no launches around that time, etc.

Posting notice so that if anyone is on site around that time, they know it was a planned event.

First reboot event is Friday 18-Nov-2016 06:01 UTC.
Second reboot event is Sunday 20-Nov-2016 06:01 UTC.

Both should be short outages (minutes) - should automatically come back live - but Mark says he will check everything comes back fine in the morning to be sure.

First reboot complete. Was only five minutes and site came back automatically without issue, so that wasn't too painful! :)

And that's the Sunday - and final - reboot complete. That one was longer, so they were clearly rebooting Jim's 50,000 "no" posts ;)

Thanks for your patience!

Doing some checking, it looks like the final reboot caused image preview not to instantly display. I'll pass it on to Mark to fix. Images are all still there, just not auto displaying in preview mode.

Good to see a site doing upgrades. I'd be more concerned if you weren't 👍

And Mark has fixed that. :)
