NSF 2016 Calendar now available!

Well this year's flown by, as confirmed by the latest NSF calendar! Great work by all here, not least Bob for creating and Nathan for being our own corner of Hollywood with the renders - and the quality/feel of this one is even better than the 2015 calendar that I really loved (and is on the wall still, including at friends/family houses, which always makes me smile).

I've got my hands on a few already - per the photo below, with the PS4 used for scale. ;D

Edit/Lar: another version is available with a Sunday through Saturday layout, thanks to grythumn:

I had some flexibility on the calendar bottom with lulu. Not enough to move the credits off the images, but I could change the week format and add a few dates of interest.

So-Bad-Its-Good Pun Police have been called!  Maybe if it had come out a little later, Los Santos would've had a version of a certain rocket company near the airport...

Hopefully my switch last year to 4K resolution for the renders should've helped sort out any printing resolution issues!

It'll take me 30-60 minutes to redo the calendar with another layout, and you're the first person to ask.

Apparently I've been spelling that wrong all of my life. :( Thanks for pointing it out. I've fixed the masters, so any new copies will have the corrected spelling.

And if anyone else was wondering about curious vs curiosity, apparently it's because it's an Old French loanword:

I feel like I need to post because of the nature of what i just did.

I did something I never thought that I would do......I bought a calendar!

In my 34 years of life...I have never bought a calendar because I always get about 10-20 each year from church groups to school groups to banks.

But this one......this one is mine!!!!  Bruhahahahahah  ;D

Alright Chris.....time to expand the site to include a store!  With all the members here...we could create enough unique can't find anywhere else merchandise to make all of us very, very poor.....  ;)

OK.  You got me.   :P

As the bookkeeper for my company, I mark an X on every other Wednesday to remind me to send payroll.
I started marking my new NSF calendar, continuing from last year's NSF calendar only to find out in mid February that I have been marking Thursdays.  ::)

In 54 years I have never had a calendar where the week starts on Monday.  Is this normal elsewhere?

It will be interesting to see how many time this will screw me up in 2016. :o :o

Apparently this is fairly standard in Europe, and was requested several times for this year's calendar. I did also make a Sun-Saturday version, but it's not in the first post of this thread (and not very helpful now that you have the Mon-Sun version):

Yes, mon-sun calendar format is the ISO standard for week definition. It is used in slavic regions, in Europe and also in Chinese calendar.

For those of us who are procrastinators, you can still order this. (I edited first post to include both calendar links) and here's a code that might save you a bit. expires TODAY though.

Hi,

What type of paper are the pages made of ? I mean if they are too glossy it is difficult to write notes with an ordinary pencil. I prefer the not coated or recycled type.

100 lb gloss, but not with the high gloss UV coating. No problem writing on mine with a ballpoint or pencil.

Just ordered mine, one for me and one for my rocketry club.

I used a space calendar last year to track orbital launches. However, this year I'm having trouble finding rocket stickers.  The stickers were silly kiddy rockets and UFOs last year, but I was wondering if anyone makes more authentic launch vehicle stickers for the world's current space fleet. I suppose rubber stamps would work as well.

Not that I know of, but you could always print some on blank labels. (If you go that route, Id be interested in the images you choose. Rocket photos? Logos? Patches?)

Hmm. Thinking aloud:

Redbubble does custom die-cut vinyl stickers, but it'll be quite pricey compared to mass-produced stickers. Meant more for sticking in a window.

Precut oval stickers may be cheaper and easier, but be prepared to tweak the template because small stickers don't leave much margin for printer registration errors (practice on plain paper).

Not a customer, but small labels seem to be tricky to find. Some possibilities:
http://www.onlinelabels.com/OL889.htm
http://www.onlinelabels.com/OL5400.htm
http://www.onlinelabels.com/OL2050.htm
http://www.onlinelabels.com/OL1930.htm

They have templates on their website, and look to run about $20 + shipping for a 100 sheets.

A custom rubber stamp will be about $20 too, and easy to use. You're restricted to one color and fairly simple artwork. http://historicspacecraft.com/Rockets_Atlas.html might be a good place to start; images seem to be under CC BY-NC. Simplify #11 a bit and thicken the lines....

Perhaps we can open source the NSF calendar...

Make suggestions for monthly pictures (or renders), specific dates you want events (historical space events, 2017 conferences, etc), etc.... and I could try giving a shot at making the calendar.

Just trying to help.... I have an empty space on my wall just waiting.
