According to the article, they don't really know the orbit of the asteroid very well so are counseling patience, wait for more measurements. Patience is fine, but I wonder if we shouldn't give some thought to tagging the asteroid with a transponder, or maybe some simple corner reflectors just so that we could nail down the orbital parameters soonest.
