Hi guys,
i made a playlist on spotify. Its about space and what songs give you space feelings.
After you followed the playlist you can rightclick a song and add it to the list.
Iam sure you will discover some great adds from other space lovers, too.

"Just Let Your Love Flow" by The Bellamy Brothers:
So let the wonder
Take you into space
And lay you under
Its loving embrace
Feel the thunder
As it warms your face
You can't hold back
-
Mars ain't the kind of place
To raise your kids
In fact, it's cold as hell
And there's no one there to raise
them if you did...
Elton John
─ Rocket Man

I don't have a Spotify login, so I'll add my list here:
Rush: Countdown (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Countdown_(Rush_song)) - About the first launch of the Space Shuttle Columbia
Gayane Ballet Suite (Adagio) - In 2001: A Space Odyssey we hear this when we first encounter the spaceship Discovery One as it's on it's way to Jupiter
Movie "Interstellar" - Any of the parts with pipe organ... :)

The Major Tom song by David Bowie/Colonel Hadfield.
And around that time Elon John's "Rocket Man" - Verse 2:
Mars ain't the kind of place to raise your kids
In fact, it's cold as hell
And there's no one there to raise them if you did
And all this science I don't understand
It's just my job five days a week
Rocket man! Rocket man!

Speaking of Pink Floyd we must mention the early classics: "Interstellar Overdrive", and ""Astronomy Domine", and, of course, "Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun".
Jazz Great Sun Ra had a tremendous number of space-themed songs: "Space is the Place", "Supersonic Jazz", "Heliocentric Worlds", "We Travel the Spaceways", "Night of the Purple Moon", "Spiral Galaxy", "Space Towers", and "Rocket Ship #9 to the Planet Venus", among many others - most recorded for his record label: SATURN Records. I almost forgot the great song "The Satellites are Spinning"!
John Coltrane's late masterpiece was "Interstellar Space", and his friend Pharoah Sanders followed later with the wonderful "Astral Traveling". 8)

You should probably specify "songs that give you spacefeelings and not just because it is a themesong"
I still find myself singing this sometimes:

The Major Tom song by David Bowie/Colonel Hadfield.
It's not the only one about David Bowie : there is "Life on Mars" too !!!
-
"Also sprach Zarathustra" by Richard Strauss, obviously. Also "Slave to the wage" by Placebo (inspired by the movie Gattaca). Agree about M83. Also lots of stuff by Muse, not just Uprising, which is the Soundtrack of the famous spacex reuse Video.

After reading the August 21 2017 Solar eclipse thread and the Voyage 1 and 2 thread, namely reading about how Voyager 1 will be approaching a star in 40,000 years. That would be the year, 42,017. That reality stirred something within.
I will die a happy man if I can keep above ground until 28 July 2061. A lifetime with multiple eclipses and 2 Halleys Visits, mix that with some more Human Space Flight successes and then I can relinquish the components of my body, the atoms that were created in the Great Fusion reactors of our Universe, back to the earth, the earth of Earth, where they had originally coalesced after their fiery creation. From simple fusion products like Hydrogen in the water of my cells, to the Iron atoms of my hemoglobin, the stars emit energy from their Stellar Nucleosynthesis. No matter what we do, what we think, what our politics are, who we love, who we hate, we are ALL humans, humans with components created in the Stars. Since we humans are of the stars, doesn't it seem natural to want to visit them?
If we can all begin to live on this level playing field and celebrate our similarities, instead of focusing on our differences, perhaps we have a chance. Perhaps then we can be free. Have a think on that while listening to this song. The lyrics are provided, although the language was created by the songwriter/singer beginning when she was 12 years of age.(Lisa Gerrard). If that doesn't fire off some sort of synapse cascade within the emotional center of some other peoples brains, then maybe my hope, is just a dream?
