Title: Another piloted lunar mission plan/fantasy?
Post by: Phillip Clark on 02/26/2017 09:24 am
I came across this today.   To me it shows that there appears to be no overall plan for the SLS/Orion programme, just a few one-off missions.   It should be remembered that Apollo 8 was part of a funded programme for humans to travel to the Moon, while SLS/Orion seems to be no such programme.   This proposal will simply do what the Soviets wanted to do with the L-1 programme - have men loop around the Moon and return to Earth: at least Apollo 8 reached selenocentric orbit!

Since posting this, I have noted that there qare discussions on other threads about this proposal, so apologies for the duplication.
