Venezuela and China have signed an agreement for the design, manufacture and launch of a new Venezuelan satellite Earth observation, the VRSS-2, which will be built with Chinese technology.
Five days before launch date...Looking back at the VRSS-1 launch thread, there was more publicity before that launch than appears to be for this launch (at least content copied/linked to this launch thread).I understand that the Venezuelan media is preoccupied at the moment...but what about PR for CAST?Or, has the launch been delayed?

Considering the 19th CPC National Congress, a key meeting of the party, will be held in October, I really doubt if any launch will happen before that
Continuous?

Antonio José de Sucre, known by the acronym VRSS-2, is the third that Venezuela will put into orbit. It will be launched from the Asian nation's Jiuquan Satellite Center, to be placed in a synchronous solar orbit (SSO) at a distance of about 650 kilometers from Earth.

I wonder if this one might be broadcast live on the Venezuelan state channels - I still remember seeing the late Hugo Chavez during the VRSS-1 launch and the Maduro (ahem) did made an official statement on this sat a few days ago so maybe?
The last link just showed a countdown clock.

Looks like they don't have the angle of LCC inside, we may need to wait for the declare of success as before
He's enjoying this!
Apparently, this launch is the Return to Flight for the CZ-2D, after the mishap during last December's launch of the first pair of GaoJing-1 satellites.
JIUQUAN, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- China launched Venezuela's remote sensing satellite, VRSS-2, into a preset orbit from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China's Gobi desert at 12:13 on Monday. The VRSS-2 was the third satellite jointly launched by China and Venezuela, and also the later's second remote sensing satellite. It will be primarily used by Venezuela for land resources inspection, environmental protection, disaster monitoring and management, crop yield estimation and city planning. The satellite was launched by a Chinese Long March-2D carrier rocket which was designed by Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology. This was the 252nd flight mission for the Long March rocket family. In 2008, China launched Venezuela's first satellite -- the Venesat-1, or "Simon Bolivar" -- which carried communications facilities. In 2012, Venezuela's first remote sensing satellite, the VRSS-1, was launched into space from China.
