One of Sally Ride's options involved finished manufacturing and flying the extra tanks and also stretching the manifest. It added 2 new flights, via extra funding, and LON intact. It does not look this is the path that will be followed, if indeed the extra flights are added.

Have you seen the current manifest?
Have you heard that they are already pushed to the limit trying to get these flights in during the time aloted, hence the need for pushing into FY2011?

If 1-2 flights are added, this would have the potential to be an end of FY2011 manifest. If the stretch the post STS-130 manifest, then it could be longer if they so wanted.

No, the extra flights will not be flown within FY 2010, that's impossible. But, I hear all the existing flight (the current manifest) will target FY2010 or not much later. And the extra flights (they can be at most three) are unlikely to slip beyond sept 2011.
Robertross: sure the sts program is now expensive, but it's funded. Also, in 2009 Shuttle did LOADS of work, which with only two orbiters, will be limited. Operating Shuttle in FY2011 is pulling a rabbit out of the hat, as there's no official funding so far.

Need I remind folks that there is no "official funding" for ANYTHING for FY 2011? We operate on an annual appropriations basis, and won't even have the Administration's FY 2011 request until February. Projections are not budgets!! And that is especially true in the case of HSF programs due to the pending post-Augustine recommendations. That's why the consolidated appropriations bill Statement of Managers (like a "Conference Report") urged the Administration to include the necessary funding in their FY 2011 budget request, as well as any additional 2010 funding requirements in a FY 2010 Supplemental Budget Request.
