Miscellaneous launch schedule
« on: 02/10/2009 05:49 PM »
This launch schedule is intended to cover counties which are not covered by the other launch schedule threads. I am also including Israel, because they usually launch every other year, and the Israeli launch schedule is hence rarely updated.

Date - Payload - Rocket - Site - Country
25 February 2009? - TBD - Taepodong-2 - Musudan-ri - N. Korea - officially orbital, but probably suborbital
June 2009 - TBD - KSLV - Naro - S. Korea/Russia
4Q 2009  - Ofeq-8 - Shavit-2 - Palmachim - Israel - or 2010
2009/10 - Mesbah - Safir - Semnan - Iran

2010 - TBD/Nano-JASMINE - Tsyklon-4 - Alcântara - Ukraine

2011 - TBD - VLS-1 - Alcântara - Brazil
2011 - ELE - Haas - Balloon - Romania

2014 - TBD - Pengorbitan-1 -Lapan - Indonesia - or 2012

Pengorbitan-1 is being developed by Spacetecx State Corp. of Indonesia. Does any body have concreate information about this company?

I guess, they work with Alac.

Any idea when and which launch vehicle will launch joint CNES-ISA mission; Venus?

It supposed to be launched at 2009 but it have not appeared on the launch lists yet.

VENUS is currently scheduled for launch in 2011 (1st quarter).

See here: http://smsc.cnes.fr/VENUS/

From this site you could get the impression, that VENUS was originally planned to launch piggy-back on a Ariane 5: http://www.ueaf.net/actualites/fis_288.html

Don't know if that is still the plan (or ever was), but I have a hard time imagining what sense it would make to launch a polar satellite piggy-back on a GTO trajectory.

If the launch is in 2011, they could surly use VEGA.

Ariane doesn't always fly to GTO. They do occasionally fly to SSO (okay, the last was in 2004).

There is one going that way in December this year with a Helios satellite, perhaps Venμs was originally scheduled to be on that launch. I agree that it will probably end up on Vega.

Absolutely no chance of Shavit. Wrong orbit.

Always nice to see some sign of life.

Slightly off-topic, and not a spaceflight (except by the US definition), but AEB fired an Orion-1 rocket from Alcântara on Friday to test the range.

Article shows high level of know how by including an Ariane 5 pic and labelling it "Shuttle".  :(

Quote
"This one, which will consist of four stages, will be part of an RPS-01 rocket to put a satellite in orbit," Soewarto said.

He said LAPAN had earlier successfully tested the flights of RX-320 and RX-420 rockets whose components would be used to build a RPS-01 rocket to carry a satellite to an orbit around earth.

The rockets, he said, would be the prototypes of satellite carrying rockets to be launched in 2014.

Can't find an English source yet, but Yonhap News is reporting that the launch is now scheduled on October 26 (with backup dates on October 27-31). The launch window is 3:30 pm - 7:00 pm LT (06:30 - 10:00 UTC).

The problem is that in the N-K announcement, they call it "a copy of KMS-3", not "KMS-4".....

New topics:
Brazilian launch shedule
North Korean launch shedule
South Korean launch shedule

Maybe there is a typo in the thread title. I don't mind, but as these threads are meant to stay for a long time, maybe you want to consider a correction.

TBD - ELE - Haas - Balloon over Black Sea (Romania)

Not balloon but supersonic plane IAR-111, and not Haas rocket but Haas 2. Another option is that the ELE will be launched by Haas 2C rockret from ground - on the ARCA webpage it is not clearly explained. The launch is scheduled for 2014.

Does anyone have insight, if this project is indeed making progress, that a launch in 2015 looks even remotely possible?

Orbit no longer exists. In an open door day at Moron AFB last year there were news of a Sirio(a star´s name) small launcher by 2016 end. IMHO probably from Chamical or Mar Chiquita launch pads already owned by AF.
Sirio was described as a 4+1+1 3-stage rocket: a cluster of 4 56 cm as 1st stage and the other 2 stages of 56 cm diameter rockets each

That sounds more like a sounding rocket.

Seems like a separate launch schedule for Electron will be needed as soon as they have a working orbital rocket.
Any day with a rocket landing is a fantastic day.

Rocket Lab is a US corporation with a New Zealand subsidiary

Is the allocation to New Zealand correct? Doesn't it American company?

Its current launch facilities are only in New Zealand until US Spaceports joint government and civilian agency task forces approve their pad requests and assign them an available missile/space launch complex(es).

So the Rocket Lab should be reported in "US Launch Schedule" as the company is US entity. Launch facility location is not a criterion (like Ariane is an Europe rocket in spite of the fact that Kourou is not located in Europe).

Rocket Lab's first Electron vehicle has arrived at its launch site south of Gisborne in what the New Zealand company says is an important milestone for the space industry.

The historic test launch will take place in ''the coming months'', dependent on equipment testing and weather on the Mahia Peninsula.

Pre-flight checks would now start on the 17m tall rocket - with a call sign chosen by staff: ''It's a Test.''

"It's an important milestone for our team and for the space industry, both in New Zealand and globally. In past, it's been countries that go to space, not companies," said Peter Beck, Rocket Lab founder and chief executive.

''I'm immensely proud of the team it's a great effort by a group of incredible people."

The rocket was taken by truck in two climate-controlled containers to the Mahia Peninsula from Rocket Lab's manufacturing base near Auckland Airport. Launch Complex 1 is at the tip of the peninsula, about 90km south of Gisborne.
