That's it then. I can only hope this leads to some new continuity in the Russian planetary programme, instead of such overcomplication 'for starters'.

Do we know if there is any remote chance of the return capsule being washed up on the Chilean coast?

Thankfully we live on a planet with lots of water.  So when something like this happens it's likely that's where the debris will end up and not fall on somebody's head.
