I have to agree - it's the Bat Rover.

In seriousness, I am unsure whether this is a stunt or a serious concept.  It looks like it could be useful, but it barely looks akin to the SEV rover designs.  I'm going to veer towards stunt.

You don't know if it's serious - I think you're being too kind, it's a silly vehicle to sell ...something.  It has almost no practical value; why those wheels, why the shape, why have limited visibility? etc. etc. etc.

LOL - the baby rover in front of it in the third picture is pretty funny too.

I mean, I get the desire to ignite interest in the mission to mars, but this is the worst kind of vaporware...

Designed to look cool for display purposes, presumably.  It wouldn't attract much interest from visitors if it looked like the guy next door's RV.

Looks like the same rover in all the shots to my eye. The third and fourth pxs have the trailer/rear module detached.

The vehicle obviously has an aerodynamic shape. Aerodynamic shapes are designed to go through air. Air resistance is a major problem on Earth but Mars is a near vacuum, so it is the wrong shape.

The big problem on the Moon and Mars is life support. Has space been left aside for an ECLSS?

The outer shell of the "Rover" seems to be design for anti-ballistics protection against small arms and small cannon projectiles. Any real crewed surface rovers will be design to have the maximum possible habitable volume available. The "Rover" design kind of reminded me of some of the old Cadillac-Gage armored car concepts.

Hah!  I knew that thing reminded me of some previous vehicles, besides a Batrover.

The first is the XM800 Scout vehicle.  (The top one in the web page.  I much preferred the lower one.)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XM800_Armored_Reconnaissance_Scout_Vehicle

The second is this concept model of the AMT Amtronic.  It too separates into two pieces.

Design aside, vehicle demonstrates how a useful manned rover might arrive in 2 pieces due to mass limits, and could rotate between 2 different power units on opposite days.  Power units could be recharged and serviced at base.

An interesting concept; I admit I failed to think of that aspect.

Compare it to "The Martian" rover:

Peh! Like people would want to go all the way to Mars and then look down. :-)
