  One dead? My condolences.
Two chutes don't always equate to two survivors.
But two chutes from SS2 clearly means it corkscrewed into the ground.
If any comfort, at least it was not eight dead.

Anyone know who our pilots were on today's test flight?  Reading more and more tweets of scanner traffic that one pilot has died (which is heartbreaking news).

Back in Mojave now. Ss2 had trouble with engine burn, blew up, came down in pieces near Koehn Lake.

Very bad idea to discuss names at this stage.

I concur. We have to be respectful here. It would be horrendous if family/friends found out via the internet (highly doubtful, but let's not even risk that).

I'm personally stressing out as I know one of the pilots who is on SS2's test roster. No idea if he was flying today.

@VirginGalactic #SpaceShipTwo dropped. From what I could tell, motor fired and then stopped then fired again. I think that's what happened.
