Thanks.  I agree with Padrat. It is easier to view the regular version on the iPad.

My iPad3 now displays using the phone interface, which is very annoying.  The standard web interface on an iPad is much better than the mobile stripped down version.

Edit: I didn't see that there was already a second page to this thread when i wrote this, so I didn't realize that the tablet issue had already been raised.  Thanks for the tip about the button for switching to the full version, this is much better!

It works on my iphone 5.

But the forum and thread list views are VERY tall - please trim the information so the display is more manageable.

Once you are in a thread it looks good, though.

I think I'd rather use the full version, especially on my ipad. Any way to select which one you want to use?

Yes, you can always switch back to the full site (button on bottom right), but I'm going to set the default for 'tablets' to the full site as soon as possible.
. Took me quite a while of not finding that button before I did.      I recommend a more prominent spot for "classic version" or "full version" button.

Week-old iPad detected and switched me automatically.

The mobile site is easy to use on my new cheap-ish Sony Xperia L.  :) One little request though - would it be possible to use the "Request desktop site" button on Chrome for switching to and fro the original forum?

Samsung GT P1000 (mk 1 7" tab).

I'm getting mobile version on stock browser, firefox & chrome.

This includes when I request "desktop version" on stock browser.

Per comment above, I'd agree that would be good if stock would continue to display mobile  version in standard mode, but honour the request for desktop version if I select that from the menu.

One comment re stock browser - I use the labs feature "quick controls" which intercepts touches at very edge of the screen. Thus makes it quite difficult to select the buttons up in the corners of the layout. (TBH, I find QC to be a PITA, but I do keep using it.)

Cheers, Martin

Main NASASpaceFlight page is the desktop version, forum auto-detected mobile.

Scroll down to the bottom of the mobile site and click the link for the full site. Easy.

The mobile site still requires an awful lot of scrolling to see anything. I'm attaching two screen caps from my iPhone 5 with iOS 7:
(I'm posting using tapatalk as a test)

As far as the scrolling required, it is a bit silly when in many forums the sticky threads are 2x page tall before you get to current threads.  There really is no need to show that much information about a forum and/or thread.

EDIT 2: replaced weird attached images.

Is there a "new" button on the mobile version?  I couldn't find it.

A nice service to have, well done to all involved.
However, I agree with Lars_J about the excessive scrolling required. It's actually quicker to scroll using the regular version.

Also, on my Galaxy Ace (GT-S5830) the menu buttons are simply white circles (i.e. no icons), so I had to guess what they were for. Finally got to see what they're supposed to look like thanks to Lars_J's screenshots.

Click the 'menu' button (three horizontal lines stacked on top of each other) in the white circle in the top left corner, you'll find it there.

You may have the same problem as Garret, though, where some menu images are not loading.

There is one IMO rather critical flaw in the Mobile version of the site - When you are in a forum thread, on the last page, the "next page" arrow still exists - BUT it takes you to the "All" view of the thread. (This may be because the combobox/drop-down that allows direct page access has the "All" entry as the last one)

BTW, If you want to see how the mobile site looks, click on the "Mobile" tiny link at the bottom of the page.

Can the "next page" link be removed when on the last page? Or remove the "All" option from the page list? It is a bit frustrating to never be sure if you actually are on a last page, and if you are, you get a whole LOT loaded when all of the posts are loaded.

Just started using the mobile version and I wonder about Lars question. Sometimes when I'm at the last post in the thread I see the right arrow and get the behavior Lars mentions. Sometimes it works as I think it should where the next page arrow doesn't exist because you are at the last post. No clue why the different behavior for same situation of being on the last post of a thread.

Suspect it works same way as the main site, where "all" is only an option up to a certain maximum number of posts in the thread.
