Helps with the E_c calculations.
If I like something on NSF, it's probably because I know it to be accurate.  Every once in a while, it's just something I agree with.  Facts generally receive the former.

Helps with the E_c calculations.

Shouldn't those be lower with the new version of the rocket?

I'm not going to make it tonight... meeting this afternoon I can't duck. Next time, and best of luck for a successful launch.

At Ferry Landing.

Looks like a gorgeous evening.  Wish I was there.  Please do report back on how crowded it gets, with Arbuckle Neck closed.  Thanks!

So far just 100 or so; easy nearby parking. But the mosquitos (and other bugs) are clearly the dominant species.

I found my own answer. Point breeze lane looks near it.

Definitely much more crowded now. And with temp dropping, so haze/fog increasing over the marsh :(

Just saw the first stage burn through MECO, barely visible low in the Southwest through the hazy clouds from up here just outside of Boston. Not a spectacular show but gratifying nonetheless.

EDIT: Download GIF for animation.  Also attached composite.

View (video) of the launch from the old ferry dock/landing (excuse the wobbly overloaded and overextended tripod)

Great vid. Thanks for posting. My pics didin't come out well (overexposed). I did meet up with smith5se. Clearly we need an NSF banner or dinner gathering next time!

At Ferry Landing.

You wouldn't happen to be the guy in a plaid shirt with a spotting scope, would you? I was the guy with tripod mounted binoculars set up to the right of the guy with the huge, camouflage-wrapped telephoto lens.

That was such an awesome experience (my first). I met some really great people. It's a shame about the Arbuckle closure, because the ferry dock location did get pretty packed within the last 45min or so. I was the third person there when I arrived at 2pm, however. I don't have any great equipment and very limited experience, but I did capture a decent long exposure from launch to MECO (edit: I haven't tried to enchance it yet)

And here's my video if anyone's interested/bored:

Yes, that was me, right at the start of the dock. Sarah was the one with small child and dog in tow. I was checking NSF and @NASASpaceFlight tweets the whole time...
