That is where I am confused, because the rendering of the display...
I don't understand why there is all this confusion about the renderings/ artist concepts. When it should be noted that regardless of the differences between the render and real exhibit, the KSC Visitor Center puts the other museums to shame when it comes to display the orbiters. In D.C. they just rolled Discovery in. In New York, they just let Enterprise go camping in tent. In Los Angeles, it looks like they just dumped Endeavour off, leaving her on the transporter. (But you got to give credit to the CSC for the awesome plan to display Endeavour vertically.) So I think that the KSC Visitor Complex gets the best display award. Where else will you be able see a shuttle that looks like it just left the ISS?
and Enterprise... ah, whatever!
Is there anything firmed up for an opening date. Really need to get this in the diary

So, if everything works out the way it's planned, exhibits across the U.S. will show all major parts of a shuttle flight: Launch (Endeavour), in orbit (Atlantis) and landing (Discovery)... and Enterprise... ah, whatever!I really like the KSCVC concept and how Atlantis is handled with so much TLC... and indeed CSC's plan is awesome!
I had the opportunity to tour the facility on Thursday. Some photos can be found at the link below.http://scriptunasimages.wordpress.com/2012/12/27/work-continues-on-the-final-home-of-atlantis/
Will the ET Umbilical doors be attached/open for the display? Obviously they can't be attached and closed since it is mounted on them but since it is displayed in a way to look like "on orbit" I was wondering if they removed them and will have the "ferry covers" over the umbilical connections.
