What will occur in the sspf when the shuttle retires?  Will it house modules destined for the moon?

It depends.  Originally the CEV was going through it and now it isn't.  There was talk of the LSAM going through it but that doesn't look good.    Modules for the moon would be more than 15 years from now

Not necessarily, the JEM is still there, though I think it is being weighed.

There are photos of it taking during its battery changeout a few months ago, in the STS-119 section in Discovery's forum. Or, searching 'STS-119' in KSC Media Gallery.

a number of webcams shows what appears to be a plate being removed from a crate with great interest all around, anyone know what it is?

Does anyone know if the SSPF is open to visitors at this time, are there any tours that take you into the SSPF?

Something seems to be arriving/departing, anyone know what it is?

Edit:  Arriving.  It is the payload canister, but isn't it a little soon for it to be arriving for STS-126? I mean, I dont think the canister is out for STS-125.

They may well just leave it there for a while before they actually put the MPLM in. There's still plenty of processing time for the payload...

Is there any news on the other two MPLMs? Are they still in the MPPF?

Just wondering if anyone knows that that fairly large rectangular piece is next to one of the MPLM. Thanks.

Rack Insertion Device; helps moving racks (payloads) in and out of MPLMs.

Another case of "What the Deuce is this"  looks like a blue pallet:

two MPLM's
Looked like them, but thanks for confirming...so it's Raffaello and Donatello, given that Leonardo is already in the SSPF.
