I've read that SpaceX has already tested a subscale Raptor engine, something like 1kN or 225,000 lbs thrust.

Would they used this engine as a second stage for FH or even F9?
Would that also mean a stage stretch or a wider stage for the fuel?
Would it increase the ability of F9 or FH to throw more payload to LEO, GTO, TLI, or TMI?

Would they use this subscale engine on an intermediate rocket to replace FH?

OR,

Would they go ahead and develop full size Raptor?  and if so would they use it on an intermediate rocket?

Not talking about ITS, but an intermediate satellite launcher, larger than FH's capabilities.

There are already multiple threads about F9 methane replacements. We are supposed to use those threads instead of starting a new one.

Per a request by Jim to the moderators, discussion of a methane upper stage has been prohibited outside of this thread.
