The choice to include Musk was somewhat surprising given how his views conflict with the President-elect on key issues like green energy and climate change, as well as his outspoken support for Hillary Clinton during the campaign. He even went so far as to say, “[Donald Trump] doesn’t seem to have the sort of character that reflects well on the United States.” Whether or not that’s true, it’s reasonable to question why Musk is willing to cozy up to Trump now.Yet it is Musk’s tendency to build his corporations on the backs of taxpayers that provide the most cause for alarm.
General "we should work with Trump" posts (and their opposite) are off topic. (Same with "thanks Obama" or "McConnell caused issues" or "Harry Reid caused issues" or "Bush II was bad" or even... "FDR was bad". )That said, Quinlan seems somewhat ill-informed.
And....Elon tweets:Am departing presidential councils. Climate change is real. Leaving Paris is not good for America or the world.
He is a man of his word!
I think it is sad. Trump said he is willing to renegotiate the climate accord, but not at the expense of American jobs or American money when China and India can increase their coal usage, but not us, etc. I think Musk should have stayed on. Someone from the space industry should.
Didn't take that long. https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/870369915894546432
