".....second fatal crash involving a T-38C aircraft in eight days......"

Is this the same plane used by Nasa ???

I believe the NASA models are T-38A(N), not T-38C.

They're different variants of the same plane...to what extent I really don't know, but they're not the same exact model.

The T38C is an upgrade of the T38A and T38B with better avionics and an engine improvement. NASAs T38A(N) has changes, which ones I don't know except that (per an earlier thread on NSF) the supersonic capability has been discarded as requiring additional maintenance and certification together with being impractical to employ on the cross country flights they are used for (IIRC supersonic flight is only allowed in specific low population range areas - in the UK over parts of the Scottish Highlands and certain sea areas).

not a relevant thread

I think it is - the implication was the question of whether or not NASA was going to choose to follow suit with their T-38s.

We'll lock it if there isn't a connection.

Honestly, the first thing I thought of when I saw the headline on Yahoo was how does it affect ours.  I vote for relevant.
If I like something on NSF, it's probably because I know it to be accurate.  Every once in a while, it's just something I agree with.  Facts generally receive the former.

And I'm with Antares. Enough with the backseat modding.

So does anyone know if NASA's T-38s are grounded too? Yes, I know they are different models.
